Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled | February 22nd, 2026
This week, we began a new sermon series, titled Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled.
In John 14, on the night before his crucifixion, Jesus looks at his troubled disciples and says, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” Their hearts are stirred up by fear, loss, and uncertainty—and instead of offering quick relief, Jesus goes deeper. He addresses their trust.
Our anxious hearts often reveal what we are really resting in. We try control, distraction, or success, but those comforts are fragile. Jesus invites us into a deeper trust—a steady posture of turning our whole selves toward him.
He then anchors that trust in a promise: “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” He does not promise a trouble-free life, but a true home. Through his cross and resurrection, he secures our future in the Father’s presence.
