In Matthew 7:7-11, Jesus invites us to ask, seek, and knock—not because prayer is a formula for getting whatever we want, but because God is a good Father who delights in giving good gifts to his children.
Prayer is active participation with God in the life he is inviting us into. We bring our desires, burdens, questions, and anxieties to him, trusting that he hears us and is at work—even when we cannot see it. God’s apparent silence does not mean God’s absence, and sometimes what looks like a “no” is actually God answering a deeper prayer in ways we could not have imagined.
The invitation is simple: ask boldly, seek persistently, and knock expectantly. We can do this with full surrender because we know who our Father is.
